This summer we bid a bittersweet farewell to Denise Welch, who retired after over ten years on staff at PSJ.
Denise’s commitment to PSJ and passion for our work was second to none. She was the ultimate team player, always ready to pitch in and delve into the work. Her impact on PSJ will be felt for years to come.
An often behind-the-scenes team member, Denise kept us all on track (or in my case, at least tried her darndest to keep me on track), kept our database pristine, and developed incredible relationships that continue to root our work in the experiences of our constituents.
I have to admit to being a little jealous of her grandchildren who are now the ones who get the daily benefit of her incredible intellect and joyful passion for justice. We miss you, Denise!
While no one can fill Denise’s shoes, we will be hiring her replacement soon. Stay tuned for a job announcement.
A farewell message from Denise:
Thank you PSJ staff, board, members, and supporters for ten of the best years of my working life. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the movement for reform of our criminal justice system and to meet and work with so many dedicated and wonderful people. I love you all.
