Submit testimony: Support the Family Sentencing Alternative Program.
The Oregon House Judiciary Committee is hearing testimony about the Family Sentencing Alternative (FSAP). For the last 10 years, FSAP has made our communities safe, healthy, and strong by:
- Helping people be accountable for harm through supervision and programs instead of prison.
- Keeping families together.
- Reducing time kids spend in foster care.
- Preventing future crime and recidivism.
Without legislative action, FSAP will end, and families will risk being separated.
Lawmakers are now listening to Oregonians before voting to:
- Allow more caregivers and families to qualify for services, such as housing and treatment.
- Expand who can be considered a caregiver to more accurately reflect Oregon’s diverse families.
- Connect families to culturally specific services.
There’s only a short time to submit testimony. Support HB 2555 now.
