Solutions to Violence is a national report profiling 17 organizations and individuals working to create safety without relying on policing. The report was written by our partner, Common Justice, a New-York based nonprofit that operates the first alternativeto-incarceration and victim-service program in the United States with a focus on violent felonies in adult courts. With more people discussing non-carceral responses to violence, Common Justice is releasing this report with the aim of giving community leaders, organizations and practitioners strategies and ideas for addressing harm in their communities.

To celebrate the launch of this exciting report, Common Justice is hosting a panel on August 24th 3:30pm PT. Hosted by Josie Duffy Rice, the panel will feature Stefanie Lyn Kaufman-Mthimkhulu of Project LETS, Travis Claybrooks of the Raphah Institute, Dr. Dorothy Johnson-Speight of Mothers in Charge, and Danielle Sered from Common Justice in an engaging discussion about violence and community-based solutions to harm.
After the panel, Partnership for Safety and Justice is hosting our own community conversation, where we’ll connect the discussions on the panel to our local work and brainstorm strategies for the future. We would love to have you attend!
RSVP for this Safety & Justice community conversation on August 24th, which will take place at 5:15pm PST.
