We’re excited to be part of Clinton Street Theater’s Resistance Series! Join us on February 25 for a screening of Cry Freedom, a powerful drama that helped expose to the world the malfeasance of South African apartheid.
Admission is free, the venue is wheelchair accessible, and all donations at the door will directly benefit Partnership for Safety and Justice.
Cry Freedom chronicles the fact-based friendship between South African pacifistic civil-rights activist, Steve Biko (Denzel Washington), and outspoken white newspaper editor, Donald Woods (Kevin Kline). The film was nominated for several awards and continues to be heralded as one of the most impactful political cinematic works.
