PSJ’s First Statewide Annual Gathering a Huge Success

Nearly 120 PSJ members and concerned Oregonians came together on Saturday, April 5th for our first Statewide Annual Gathering which was a resounding success! The day was devoted to providing the information and tools necessary to defeat the mandatory minimum measure that will be on Oregon’s ballot in November.

WA: Former & Current Prisoners Win Settlement over Lost Property

Washington courts awarded a settlement of $1,262,500 to prisoners and former prisoners who lost their personal property when the Department of Corrections moved them to a different prison.

The Therapeutic Community TEAM Program is an intensive drug treatment program at South Idaho Correctional Institution. The program has a 77% success rate and has had 601 graduates since 2001.

House Bill 2712 and Senate Bill 6608, together referred to as the Gang Bill, are long pieces of legislation that would increase incarceration, increase racial profiling, create a state-wide database of people labeled gang members, and criminalize youth culture.
