WA: Federal Government Sues WDOC
The U. S. Department of Labor is suing Washington Department of Corrections for what could be millions of dollars in unpaid overtime owed to community corrections workers.
After an audit, the Department of Labor found that the Department of Corrections kept poor records of the hours worked by people in community corrections. Community corrections workers supervise people on parole and probation and often work evening and weekend hours. The total amount in wages owed to community corrections workers has not been determined.
