HB 2904 Creates a ‘Second Look’ for Youth Treated as Adults
March 22, 2007 - 12:23pm
“Second Look”, a bill before the Oregon legislature, recognizes that youth can and do change and transform themselves. For youth who commit a Measure 11 offense and who have served half of their sentence, they would have an opportunity to go back before a judge. The young person would still serve the remainder of his or her sentence but the judge would have discretion to permit the youth to serve out their sentence under post-prison supervision.
